This review is going to be a bit of a budget vs premium. I know that some products can be very expensive and I remember being at school and not being able to afford the things that I wanted so tried out the lower priced items which can be equally as good as the high end products or even better!
Make Up Remover
I feel that if you're going to wear make up you definitely need to invest in a good make up remover. I know it easy to just go to bed and not bother take it off but that just makes your skin worse! The two brands I have chosen are Garnier and a Boots own brand.
I'm currently using the Garnier Micellar Water. I've been using this for about a year and a half and I'm still on my first bottle. It is soothing, moisturising and cleansing all in one go and also removes make up. A positive is that is ideal for sensitive skin as there isn't anything harsh in it and can even be used over eyes and lips. These come in around £4.99 a bottle which is great value for money considering how long they last.
The Boots own branded Remover and Lotion are Cucumber scented which is light and refreshing for the skin. They work very well when removing make up and cleansing the skin as they are enriched with vitamins to nourish the skin and help remove excess oils. They are £1.50 each at Boots but the majority of the time there is a 3 for £3.00 offer which is a bargain!
Shampoos and Conditioners
With Shampoos and Conditioners it definitely depends on what type of hair you have and the condition of your hair.
My all time favourite is Lee Stafford Ubuntu Oils Shampoo and Conditioner. They contain Baobab Oils and vitamins which nourish, restore and leave hair feeling super soft. I've been using these for about 6 months and can tell the difference instantly. My hair feels soft and smooth, I also use the heat protection spray and hair smoothee in the same range which works wonders. When I use a different shampoo I just don't get the same finish or effect. The fragrance is lovely and lasts until your next wash. They are very pricey but they are 100% worth it.
Price £9.99 each.
I do use a different Shampoo and Conditioner in between washes so that my hair doesn't get used to the one I use because eventually the benefits will become fewer.
I use Herbal Essences Nourish Me Butter which contains Cupuacu butter. This leaves hair smelling lovely and feeling soft. I would say this is very close to the Ubuntu Oil Shampoo and Conditioner above. Whenever I use Herbal Essences I always have the urge to do the "Ohhh Yes, Yes" off the advert (that's normal right?) ;) These bottles are 400ml so will last a long time and are £3.99 each.
Bubble Baths
I love a relaxing bubble bath and am the sort of person who says the more bubbles the better. I think with bubble bath unless the contain oils, all of them are good. It just might vary on the amount you'll need to put in. Below are my favourites:
Prices range from £2.00 - £5.00 per bottle. A good bubble bath for me has to have plenty of bubbles and a strong fragrance. I don't like floral scents so I tend to go for cinnamon and honey.
Although I love bubble bath my favourite is bath bombs. They have the full package including colour, fragrance, effect and shape.
I always have a stock of Lush bath bombs, you never know you'll need a "Lush Bath"
My favourite is "Granny takes a dip". You can see the images and review here :)
I've also been loving Zoellas Fizz Bar. It reminds me of a chocolate bar with its segments which you break off and put into the bath. I normally just put 2 segment in but if I feel like a very bubbly bath I'll put in 4.
Lush Bath Bombs range from £1.95 - £3.95
Zoella Fizz Bar £5.00 exclusive to Superdrug.
Skincare
Facial skincare is very important and it can be very hard to find the right moisturiser for your skin. It depends on your skin oily, dry, sensitive etc. I must have tried 100's of different ones.
I have narrowed it down to a few favourites:
Simple Anti - Blemish £3.50
Good Things Face the Day £7.99
No7 Beautiful Skin £16.00
The Body Shop Vitamin £12.00
The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Cream £12.00
It's all about trying a different brand with different ingredients until you find the best one. I always recommend reading the reviews beforehand and looking at the ingredients. For teenage skin I would say anything with Tea Tree in is good or anything from the Simple range as they aren't harsh on skin.
