What's in my make up bag?

It is so hard to find the perfect make up for your skin which is affordable. I have tried countless different products and brands but have finally got it sorted. People who know me know that I really don't wear alot of make up anyway but like to just wear a little to even things out.

Ahh the make up bag, where all the magic is held! I got the bag from Boots a while back but it is the perfect size to fit everything in.

Always always always cleanse and moisturise your face before any make up is applied. If you want apply a primer. I recommend using Garnier Perfect Blur as it smoothens out skin and creates a perfect base for application.

The Skin

I start with No7 Stay Perfect Superlight foundation which contains SPF 15 in Calico. Calico is there lightest shade and for me that's perfect. A superlight foundation somewhere in between a tinted moisturiser and foundation. So it's not too heavy on the skin. I team this with No7 light pressed powder in translucent. This takes any shine off your skin and evens out skin tone. It comes with a powder pad for application and small mirror in the lid (which is very useful for own the go application)

No7 Stay Perfect Superlight foundation £14.50 from Boots (various shades)
No7 Light Pressed Powder £11.50 from Boots (various shades)

The Eyes:

For me a little bit of eyeliner can make me look so much better even on a bad day. I use The Body Shops Eye Definer in Black. It is perfect is all I can say. It is long lasting and can easily be removed at night. There's nothing worse than spending ages trying to remove eye make up.

The tip is the right size for minimal application without over doing it. I rarely wear mascara only on odd occasions because I'm one of these people who rub my eyes like a little baby when I'm tired so you know how that would look all smudged down my face...... so if I do wear it I use The Body Shops Super Volume in Black. The brush is formed in a way that allows you to apply evenly across your lashes without it looking to much. It is long lasting but easy to remove when neccessary.

What I do use instead of mascara is No7 Lash and Brow Perfector. Being clear it doesn't look too over the top and more natural. It enhances and shapes eye lashes (and no smudging)

The Body Shop Eye Definer £8.00
The Body Shop Volume Boost Mascara £10.00
No7 Lash and Brow Perfector £8.50

Applicators

The products you use to apply make up are as equally important as the products themselves.

Make Up Brush: Used for a light dusting of powder at the end or during the day. £9.99 from Models Own.

Blending Sponge: Used around the nose and eyes for even coverage. £7.99 for 2 from Models Own

Applicator: Used for applying small amount of powder around the face in harder to reach places. £2.99 for 10 from Models Own.

Make up Sponge: Used for applying liquid foundation. Perfect shape and maintains the shape throughout usage. Very good quality. £3.75 from Boots

The Lips

Now I don't use any lipstick what so ever. I tend to use a lip balm instead. I have a huge selection to choose from which include moisturising to tinting.

Nivea Soft Rose: Just a slight pinkish tint to add a little colour.
Nivea Fruity Shine: A more obvious red tint and shine
Blistex Lip Brilliance: A red glisten effect
Palmers Cocoa Butter/ Body Shop Cocoa Butter: Both are very good moisturisers.
Burts Bees: Also a very good moisturiser
Barry M Cor Balmy (Shade Adam & Eve): A slight pink tint to lips.
Vaseline Pink Bubbly: A glossy pink tint and shine.

The Removal:

The bit we all hate to do but must be done to keep our skin healthly and clean.

I use Garner Micellar Water. It removes all my make up easily and is frangrant free. As well as that it cleanses and soothes skin. It says approx 200 uses but I think I have used it more than that and I have 1/4 left. I use cotton pads for the face and cosmetic buds to remove eye liner (all kept in my own home made tubs)

Garnier Micellar Water £4.99 from Boots

So thats it.

What are your favourites to use? Any recommendations?

Thank you for reading!

xoxo
