I bake all the time and thought "Why not do a step by step guide on how to bake?" So I did just for you :) I love baking and experimenting with new recipes, some which have really well but some which have not!
As its near Easter I made some Easter themed cupcakes which you can follow the steps below and make them yourself :)
You will need:
- Cupcake Cases (10)
- Muffin Baking Tray
- Mixing Bowl (Large)
- Electric Mixer
- Many Spoons ha :)
- Self Raising Flour (10 oz) or (285 grams)
- Caster Sugar (5 oz) or (144 grams)
- Sunflower Spread (5 oz) or (144 grams)
- Eggs x 2
- Tablespoon of Olive Oil
- Cadbury Dairy Milk (200 grams)
- Cadburys Flake Bars ( I used 6 in total)
- Cadburys Mini Eggs ( 1 bag)
I work with ounces but will but the grams next to it just in case.
Pre heat your oven at 180 degrees or gas mark 4
Step one - Weigh out your dry ingredients and place into a mixing bowl.
Next crack two eggs into the bowl - it should like this!
Mix all your ingredients together until they look like this...
I mix in a table spoon of olive oil here to make the cakes moist once cooked. Sunflower oil will work the same if you don't have olive oil.
Spoon your mixture into your cases - until they're just over half full. This is so when they rise they're the perfect level to put the topping on :)
Bake in the oven for 15 - 20 minutes - make sure you check them because the time depends on what oven you have.
20 minutes later.......
Ta dahhhhhh they're done :)
It is important to leave your cakes at least half an hour to cool down so that the topping doesn't melt.
The topping.....
Break up a 200 gram bar of Dairy Milk into a bowl. Place into the microwave for 5 to 10 seconds until melted.
Leave to cool for 5 - 10 minutes. While you wait break up some Cadbury Flakes, I used 6 flakes in total.
Mix your flake pieces into your melted chocolate until it looks and feels thick. I also added white and milk chocolate shavings and chocolate stars.
This is the fun bit.... spread howeveer much you want on top of your cupcakes and place the mini eggs on top. I think by using the flakes it just looks a bit nest like for the eggs awwww :)
I had the problem of the chocolate solidifying because I was so slow ha so just pop it back in the microwave for a couple of seconds and continue. The chocolate does go hard on top of the cake which is what I like and makes it extra tasty :)
And there you go the last thing to do is to eat them and enjoy.
Hope you enjoy them :)
If you make them don't forget to tweet me your pics @natashasnailsuk
Thank you for reading
