Mental Health Awareness Week

Good Evening 😘

Half way through the week yay!!! 😀

I actually can't quite believe that it's May?!? Like where did April go....soon it will be Christmas 😉

May 14th - May 20th is Mental Health Awareness Week and I think it's really important for more people to talk about their experiences and what they are going through to help each other.

I think already 2018 has taught me so much and I have grown so much as a person.

1. Trust your gut instinct - I am a person who gives people not 1 chance or 2, more like 1 million. I forgive far too easy and believe people will change and what they did was a one off. I was thinking "why should I let people treat me like s**t". I got to the point where it's affecting me life and if my gut is telling me to let go then just let go!

2. Enjoy life and do what you want to -I never did this, I would happily do what everyone else wanted to do just to make them happy even if it would make me unhappy.

The question is why?

I should be putting myself first and making my feelings my number 1 priority!

3. Lifes too short to worry -  I am the biggest worrier going, I will worry about everything. I mean really like forgetting to offer someone a crisp if I have a bag and feeling bad for hours....yeah that's me ha!
I still worry a lot but I have definitely got better at letting things go!

I have also learnt better ways to deal with my anxiety.
  • Having time to myself - this really helps, just simply having a bath, listening to music or just organising (I know that sounds sad but I love cleaning)
  • Relaxation Music - I have the app Doze downloaded on my phone which has relaxing music from piano, rain forests, ambient which play on loop. I also use the app Calm which goes alongside the popular book. It has 10 minute sessions to relax, breathe and to just simply take time to fully unwind.

I will link all my other blog posts below if you want to have a read. I'd love to be able to just help 1 person feel even the tiniest bit better. I have been dealing with mental health for over 10 years and it's only in the past 6 months that I feel like I have become a much stronger person so I know it takes time but if anyone wants any advice or help....let me know 😀

Also if you have any tips that you think will help leave a comment or tweet me @natashasnailsuk 😘

Thank you so much for reading.

Love you lots.

As a sufferer of anxiety, panic attacks and ptsd sufferer if I can get any advice from people on how they cope and coping strategies those apps for the phone sound particularly interesting I think I'll give them a try...

  2. I’m big into meditating for self healing, it’s that little bit of me time where you shut yourself away from the world and purely focus on you... I use an app called insight timer that has over 10,000 mediations starting from as little as a few minutes to hours and covering various things from loving yourself to sleep help.
