Anxiety, Happiness and General Wellbeing

A few months back I did a blog post on top tips for people who suffer with anxiety/panic attacks (I'll leave a link at the end if you would like to read it) I find that with anxiety and panic attacks it can lead to feeling really down, no motivation and generally not feeling like yourself. So this post will have tips to help deal with anxiety/panic attacks and ways to boost yourself and help get back into your natural rhythm.

A few extra tips on dealing with anxiety - (If you want to read my previous post click here)

1) What is the worst that could possibly happen? When you are going to do something you don't necessary want to do or often do it can be quite scary. Think through what could the worst possible outcome be from doing it? It may be hard but the more you go through situations like this your body will realise there is nothing to fear and you will no longer have the anxiety beforehand.

2) Face your fears - If it's talking to someone, going out, doing a presentation. Actually facing your fears however small they are will make you feel so much better and proud of yourself. 90% of the time you'll think "why was I even worrying about that" The fear is a lot worse than the actual situation and the more you think about it the worse you'll feel. Take small steps and if you're not confident with talking to new people for example just make a bit of small talk in a shop and slowly build it up.

3) Don't think about what everyone else thinks of you - A lot of my anxieties are from me thinking "What if  I embarrass myself" or "What if someone laughs at me" or "What if I look stupid" I starting to get a lot better at this my thinking why should you have your life controlled by what other people think? Don't waste time doubting yourself, if other people are wasting their time judging you for who you are they obviously don't have anything better to do and most of the time it's because they have insecurities of their own. Be yourself there's only one of you so make sure the world sees that!!!!

4) Breathing - When you feel a panic or anxiety attack coming on, put your hand on your stomach and breath in slowly and exhale. Controlling your breathing will help your calm down and destress from whatever caused your attack in the first place. This will also put you in the right frame of mind to make any rational decisions.

5) Grounding -  Grounding is a term used to make you concentrate on whats going on around you. Find 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things your can smell and 1 thing you can taste. By the time you even half way through that I find that you have completely forgotten about any sort of anxiety.

Ways of boosting yourself and getting back into your natural rhythm

1) Take some time out and do something you enjoy - It sounds simple but one of mine is simply just dancing around my bedroom with my favourite music on. I find that while I'm doing that I don't have time to be worrying about things because I'm just having so much fun!!

2) Eat healthy - Eating healthy is one of the easiest. Just think if you eat loads of unhealthy food, your stomach isn't going to be best pleased which upsets the balance of your body. Your body and brain will feel happier and healthier by eating a balanced diet. I also have Aloe Vera juice everyday which I have started to notice the difference. I find it a lot easier to get up in the morning and feel generally happier.

3) Spend time outside -  I find that when I'm just sitting outside I'm less likely to have a panic/anxiety attack because there's always a noise, smell or something going on. So pick up on those things and concentrate on whats going on around you. This is similar to grounding.

I hope this has helped someone. Don't forget to leave your tips in the comments for me to read.

Remember you have made it this far so that just proves how strong you are

Thank you for reading.

xoxo
