My Top Tips To Help With Anxiety/Panic Attacks

As it's Mental Health Awarness Week next week and as my previous post about anxiety/panic attacks had a lot of interest (If you haven't read it you can click here to if you want) I just wanted to just do a quick post on my top tips to help. Please note I'm not a psychotherapist, doctor or have any qualifications for this, I just want to share my top tips and even if I help 1 person that's good enough :)

Having a Bath

For me having a bath is literally one of the best things ever (sad I know) but it's true. I find them so relaxing and it just gives me time to unwind, destress and have time to myself. A good bath also needs a good bubble bath or bath bomb. It doesn't have to be an expensive bubble bath, I think as long as there's a sufficient amount of bubbles its a thumbs up from me :)
With bubble bath I go either for Imperial Leather, Super Beauty or Treacle Moon ones because not only do they create loads of bubbles but they smell amazing!
Bath Bombs is so simple it has to be Lush. My favourite one has an odd name which is "Granny Takes a Dip" It's a lot nicer than it sounds believe me ;) (it's the bottom left picture)
Also bath salts are very good :)

Taking a walk

Ok, I'm going to be honest I don't go on "a lot" of walks but it doesn't have to be a gazillion miles.
It could just be around the block or just to and from work. I think fresh air is just so helpful, I instantly feel a whole lot better from just stepping outside or opening the window. A walk would be better because you can just walk at your own pace, however far you want and just take in the scenery. I find that it also takes your mind of feeling panicky or anxious which is definitely what you need. Or even just sitting out in the garden (weather permitting) is also good. Just take out a book or magazine to read.

Colouring

I know this may sound like I've gone out a bought a children's colouring book but I haven't :) I noticed in WHSmith that they had a section that sold colouring books for adults which said they help de-stress and I can understand why because you concentrate on the colours and patterns. I did buy one which was called "The Big Beautiful Colouring Book" and some pencil crayons. It's not like a children's colouring book, the images have loads of detail and it is actually really enjoyable and therapeutic. It took my mind of my anxiety and just made me feel so much better. They sell loads of different size so you can get a small one for you handbag for on the go or you can get a big one like I did. The one I got was £12.99 and it has about 20 different pages to colour. But I think I will definitely be using this when I just want to relax and have a bit of time to myself

Youtube

I watch loads of different Youtube Videos varying from hauls, tutorials and vlogs. Everyone knows that once you decide to watch one video, you click on the next and before you know it 2 hours have passed by. My favourites to watch are Zoella and SacconeJolys. I think they just cheer me up and totally forget about the outside world for a bit. I love watching hauls, I don't know why I'm just interested in what other people have bought and are using, in case I can get some sort of inspiration or tips from them. It's probably because I love shopping so much :) ha!

So that's my few tips, like I said earlier I don't have a qualification so I know these things won't help everyone but they help me so they may help you. I know it's hard from my own experience so if I had just had something to read like this a few years ago I know it would have helped. There's probably loads of different websites and blogs for advice these days so check those out too. I think by helping yourself out by using little preventions it really goes a long way. I still feel anxious some times a lot more than others or feel like I'm about to pass out and be eaten by the floor, but I know I have survived before and it's will be ok :)

Thank you for reading, if you have any tips please do let me know, I'm always hunting for new tip and tricks :)

xoxo

  1. Thanks once again for putting another post up for Anxiety/Panic Attacks. I love my bubble baths too and your right they do make you feel so much better :). I use Radox mainly the lavender one that is supposed to help you sleep and the stress relief one. I've never actually used any bath bombs from LUSH I know impossible to believe RIGHT... You have helped at least one person by posting these posts and I'm sure others will read them and feel that you have helped them too.

Thank you, that means a lot. I just wanted to put my tips up because they could help someone else and I know myself how hard it can be.
